Judge Bolton has ruled on SB1070. In her ruling she writes that Arizona’s interests do not trump the federal governments authority to regulate migration as it sees fit. This makes sense, though it should have made sense when writing the bill. The federal court system is not likely to disagree with this as it moves along. Of course, the Supreme Court can go against precedence and reverse, but they’d have to dislike immigrants more than they dislike power. Possible. But not likely. Besides, SB1070 is more about winning elections than migration control. In that way, it has been a success for those involved so far.
