Welcome

I am currently an Assistant Professor in the department of Politics and International Affairs at Northern Arizona University.  I have a Ph.D. in political science from the  University of California, Irvine and a B.A. from the University of California, Los Angeles.  My research interests include Latino partisanship, political participation and political mobilization.

I am also a Research Associate at the Thomas and Dorothy Leavey Center for the Study of Los Angeles at Loyola Marymount University.  I have co-sponsored or has been the principle researcher in several exit polling projects and I am working on several research projects concerned with the politics of immigration, Latino attitudes on sexual orientation and the effectiveness of co-ethnic political recruitment.

I am a proud native of Los Angeles, born in the historically rich city of Boyle Heights, California.  I am married to Mackenzie and have four children; Isabella (6), Jacqueline "Quinn" (4), Evangeline (2) and Santiago (2 months).
