Welcome

I am an Assistant Professor in the department of Politics and International Affairs at Northern Arizona University.  I have a Ph.D. in political science from the  University of California, Irvine and I have a B.A. from the University of California, Los Angeles.  My research interests include Latino partisanship, political participation and political mobilization.

I am also Research Associate at the Thomas and Dorothy Leavey Center for the Study of Los Angeles at Loyola Marymount University.  I have co-sponsored or have been the lead researcher in several exit polling projects over the last two years and I am working on several research projects concerned with the 1992 Los Angeles Riots, homeownership and race, and the effectiveness of co-ethnic political recruitment.

I am a proud native of Los Angeles, born in the historically rich city of Boyle Heights, California.
